I became a pharmacist in 1982 after attending and graduating from the University Oklahoma in 1981. I owned Medic Pharmacy in Mustang, Oklahoma, U.S.A., for 15 years, helping my patients to get the most out of their prescription medications, non-prescription medications, asthma treatments, diabetes care, natural treatments, self-care, vitamins, minerals, herbs and natural products.
I was the first recipient of the annual Oklahoma Pharmacist Association/Dupont Pharma “Innovative Pharmacy Practice Award” in 1995. I have received additional training and certification in "FirstLine Therapy" by Metagenics, “Phytomedicinals and Alternative Therapies”, “Applied Clinical Nutrition”, “Pharmaceutical Patient Care”, “Asthma Management”, and “Respiratory Disease Management”. I'm also a member of the Pharmacy Compounding Centers of America.
My family history, multiple generations, of prostate cancer led me to learn everything I could about supplements, food and lifestyle to prevent prostate cancer. My wife had asthma and migraine headaches. She was using several prescriptions to treat the symptoms but she still had asthma attacks and migraine headaches. The medications were not successful in preventing her health problems. I started going to healthcare practitioner continuing education programs on natural products and developed a protocol that prevents her asthma and migraine headaches. She does not have to take prescription products for asthma and migraines!
I became more and more dissatisfied with traditional pharmacy and vowed to God that if he sold my pharmacy I would open a natural practice. A pharmacist came in and offered to buy the pharmacy within one month. Within two months the pharmacy was sold! God wanted me to start a natural practice!
After selling my pharmacy in December 1997, I opened HEALTH NUT RX™, Natural Care Solution, in March of 1998. The original location was in the Quail Plaza Shopping Center in Oklahoma City. After nine years, we located our office to a larger facility in the Collonade Shops in April, 2007, and expanded our natural care services, FirstLine Therapy, tests, evaluations, massage therapy, and personal training. I merged Health Nut Rx with Flourish in 2010 where I have a private clinical nutrition practice.
I write special reports and ebooks on the effects vitamins, minerals, herbs, diet and lifestyle have on cancer and the risk of cancer and publish them at www.NaturalCancerReports.com.
After starting the special reports on cancer, I discovered the issue of copper toxicity and cancer. Researchers are currently developing prescription treatment plans using chelation drugs to lower copper and toxic metal levels. The chelation drugs pull copper out of the body to decrease the development and growth of blood vessels which provide nutrients and energy to cancer tumors. I have a beautiful, loving, supportive wife, two children, three grandchildren, one great-grandchild one the way, two dogs, two cats, two horses, and ten chickens. I'm active in the First Baptist Church of Mustang Choir and play trumpet in the orchestra. My hobbies include riding horses, photography, camping, snow skiing with the grandchildren and fishing.
