Alternative cancer treatment of Coenzyme Q(10) (CoQ10) and a mixture of antioxidants lengthened survival of
patients with end-stage cancer.
In a nine year study, 41 patients with
end-stage cancer were given CoQ10 and a mixture of antioxidants (vitamin C, selenium, folic acid and
beta-carotene). Their primary cancers were located in the breast, brain, lungs, kidneys, pancreas, esophagus, stomach, colon, prostate, ovaries and skin.
On
average these patients that supplements with CoQ10 and antioxidants lived 16.9 months longer (which is more
than 40 per cent longer), than their predicted survival.
The
vitamin treatments were well tolerated with few adverse effects.
