Increased dietary intake of vitamins C, E and beta-carotene
reduce the risk of endometrial cancer.
In the medical journal, Cancer Causes and Control, scientists report that for every 1,000 mcg increase per
1,000 calorie diet of beta-carotene was associated with a 12% reduction in the risk of endometrial cancer.
Similarly, for every 50 mg increase per 1,000 calorie diet of vitamin C the risk of endometrial cancer was reduced
by 15%.
For every 5 mg increase per 1,000 calorie diet of vitamin E the risk of endometrial cancer was reduced by 9%.
The results are based on data from 12 case-control studies, and
intakes from supplement were not considered by the researchers.

Natural Care Solution:
A very large number of population studies have linked increased dietary intake of
antioxidants from fruits and vegetables to reduced risks of a range of diseases including cancer, cardiovascular
disease and diabetes.
However, when the antioxidants have been synthetically made or isolated and put into supplements the
results do not always produce the same benefits, and may even be harmful. The fruits and vegetables
appear have other nutrients that work synergistically with the antioxidants to provide the best
outcomes.
Until we learn more, it is still best to consume 5 cups of dark coloured fruits and vegetables each day. I admit,
there are days that it’s difficult to get 5 cups daily so I supplement with Juice Plus+, Power Greens or Phytoganix.
